Party everyday. Puh-puh-puh Party everyday.

Pondstock, was a pretty good time. The Range Maggots were good, as were the Country Rebels (as always). I was passed the fuck out by the time Ron Scott played. FLB didn't play on account of Kenny not wanting to do it. So Kaleidoscope played first Sunday. Fiberglass Catfish wailed. The Darts were fuckin' awesome. Check em out. Then, I heard about the first minute of the Powerplayers set before I decided to go to bed.

All in all, hellz yea, another Pondstock in the books...

on the eve of destruction - 9/5/2009

It's Saturday September 5th, 2009. I don't know if you know what that means but...

Today's kind of a big deal. scratch that.

Today's TOTALLY a big deal. It's the first day of a two day music festival that I like to refer to as, Laborstock. It's an event held at Lake Hedke (Same place as Pondstock)((Hence the name)). Today's supposed to consist of three groups, starting at 4:30. The Range Maggots start things off. Believe me, I'm just as skeptical as the next guy would be about a band that goes by such a name. So, we'll see how that turns out, i guess. Next is the Country Rebels, and that's gonna be a hell of a set. Those fellas do the older tunes and they do em well. Finally, a guy named Ron Scott is gonna close the evening out. Now it's kinda pricy, i do understand. If you can only afford to go one day Sundays your day! Now I'm not just saying that because I play that day. But since we're on the subject, Kaleidoscope Eyes is playing around 4 and we're planning a great set, full of new and old songs and a couple cover tunes. Before us, though, it's FLB.

Now I need a minute to explain what FLB is and who's in it, to those who don't know. FLB stands for Fat Lady Bingo or Fuck Looking Back or Floating Like Balloons or other words. Okay, FLB doesn't actually stand for anything. It's just FLB, and I think it's a pretty tight band name. Now it's members include, the self-proclaimed leader of the band, Jason Norman. Aaron Paiz is slapping some bass. Jared Bailey, or Jables, pounds on the drums. But he wants it to be made very clear, that drums aren't the only thing he's good at pounding. On guitar duties, there's Kenny Giron and yours truly. I know what your thinking. "Isn't that just Kaleidoscope Eyes minus Koby plus Norman and KG?" And yeah, the lineups exactly that, but Kaleidoscope's about originals and FLB is purely cover tunes. We cover some CCR (Cross Canadian Ragweed), Tenacious D, Zac Brown Band, and one tune by a band called Reckless Kelly called "American Blood".

So, again, Sunday starts out with FLB, then it's Kaleidoscope Eyes, and next is Fiberglass Catfish. Then it's The Darts after them. And closing that night will be the Powerplayers! A clutch tribute band that rocks.. HARD. So, you all should definitely be there! It's gonna be LEGEN... wait for it... damn, this npr quote gets old after a while... but I hope your not lactose intolerant because the next part of this word is... DARY. It's gonna be legendary, folks.

Hope to see ya'll there!

PEACE OUT
